Get ready, Torch releases in only a few short weeks! Here’s the official blurb to start:
The highly anticipated sequel to “Lantern” — Book 2 in the Enfield Horror Series
Meet Beauregard Baker — Beau for short
It’s always been Beau and Billy, brothers bonded for life
Billy has sinned
Billy has wronged his brother
Billy deserves what’s coming for him
His higher power has called him to action, and Beau is more than willing to oblige
While it is highly recommended to read “Lantern” first — Torch can also be read as a standalone
Torch contains subject matter that some readers may find disturbing
Now that we got that out of the way, yay Torch releases very soon! Torch veers in a different direction than I think most readers of Lantern assumed the story would go, but I hope you guys can give the story a chance! I had a lot of fun writing this one and lost myself in the character of Beau a bit. He’s insane, but also, is he really?
Here’s a short snippet and a taste of what’s to come:
“Beau knew one thing for sure — he was getting real tired of cleaning up his brother Billy’s messes. Some of it was his own damn fault. Something wasn’t right with that boy, and he knew it the second he accidentally clobbered his head against that concrete wall when Billy was just three years old. Boy just wasn’t the same after that, but that’s what he got for looking at him all bug eyed and stupid. He remember it clear as day, them boys was just messing around, he never meant to let him get into that rat poison under the sink neither. Little shit was gonna tell Pa and that’s when he smacked him real good. Beau never did too well with snot faced little snitches.
Billy’s what them normal folks call mentally challenged. Again, Beau never was one for them long fancy terms, but in his eyes, he always thought the boy was just missing a brain cell, or two, or he just acting up to get Ma’s attention.
Ma always did have a soft spot for the little shit. It got worse after Pa died. It’s still a mystery to her and Billy how that fat fuck fell down that old stone well anyway. Ma always assumed he was just shitfaced, stumbling around after too many beers. The asshole never could hold his liquor. Then there was Bill’s theory — the big bad well monster must of dragged him down there. Beau nearly died choking on that swingy thing in the back of his mouth laughing first time he heard that one.
Beau killed his Pa, and he’d do it again, and again, and again.”
If you like what you see, and haven’t done so yet, go ahead and Preorder Torch
If you have not read Lantern yet, go ahead and read that too (or listen!)
Actually, I’ll share something quickly that I found exciting about Lantern. Just this morning I checked the Amazon page and I finally reached enough reviews for Amazons AI to generate some thoughts. Although I’m not a big fan of AI, I still thought it was pretty cool, lol.
It's always great to find unfamiliar authors. I saw this post listed on Warrior Wednesday and decided to check it out. I bought the first book and preordered the second.
Given the nature of your material, you might get additional eyes by getting involved in Macabre Monday as well. There are lots of horror writers there, and they naturally draw horror readers.
